Can I just buy LED strips at the hardware store and do this myself? 🛠️
You can buy a light strip anywhere. What you can't buy off a shelf is a strip that survives a season of edge impacts, sub-zero temperatures and wet snow while staying stuck to a flexing board.
EDGELIT is a complete system, not a length of tape. The strips, housings and adhesive are chosen for one job: staying put and staying lit while you ride.
How do I install the EDGELIT LED Snowboard System? ⚡
Clean the topsheet with the included wipe, peel the backing liner and press each strip down along the edge. No screws, no drilling, nothing permanent.
Written instructions and a step-by-step video are included in the box. Most riders are done in under five minutes.
Is the lighting system waterproof and durable? 💧
Yes. EDGELIT carries an IP68 rating, so wet snow, slush and a night in a cold car are all non-issues.
The strips are fully encapsulated in silicone rather than left exposed, which is what lets them take repeated impacts and keep working season after season.
Can I switch between different colors and brightness levels? 🎨
There are seven colors to cycle through: cyan, blue, green, magenta, red, amber and cool white.
You also get three brightness levels. Turn it up when you want to be seen, turn it down when you want the batteries to last the whole session.
Will this work with any snowboard? 🏂
Any board, any brand, any size. There is nothing to measure and nothing model-specific about the fit.
If your board is on the shorter side, the strips can be trimmed for a clean finish.
How is the system powered, and how long do the batteries last? 🔋
Each strip runs off its own sealed battery housing. You can use the EDGELIT rechargeable lithium cells or a standard 9V battery, whichever suits you.
The rechargeables give around six hours of continuous light and top up over USB-C. A standard 9V runs closer to ten hours before it needs swapping. We recommend the rechargeables for regular night riders.
Can I remove the strips without damaging my board? ✨
Yes. The adhesive is built to hold through a full season and then release cleanly when you want it off.
